Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Weapons

There are many weapons in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - more than IV.  What they are and where to find them.  Most guns have a weapon skill which increases strafing speed(moving while aiming), giving you the ability to aim while lmoving, increasing accuracy, or even using two guns.

You can use most of these in a drive-by by using all SMG ammo and then getting in a car with the weapon you want to use, such as desert eagle (great).  Then enter the weapon cheat that gives you the weapon you chose.

Fists:  Your basic punching and kicking.  It's your default weapon.  I suggest locking on to targets while punching them, as some people neglect.  Different moves can be learned at each gym in San Andreas.  Brass knuckles, found under the bridge on Grove Street, can enhance damage.

Knife:  Cuts enemies; can be used for a stealth kill by going behind someone and waiting until the knife raises.  Commonly found from dead hookers.

Katana: A sword, can be used to cut heads off.  Using the Yakuza Mode cheat can help acquire this.

Baseball Bat:  Slow weapon, but lots of damage.  Can be found on some people by carjacking.

Chainsaw:  Can be used to cut down enemies quickly.  Simply start jogging with it and use the shoot button, instead of hitting them with it you will stab them with it, making for much faster kills.  Found in the Quarry and Doherty construction site (on top of a building).

Pistol:  Low damage gun, use two at hitman level.  Can run while shooting.  Found at Emmet's or Ammunation.

Silenced 9mm:  Silenced pistol, can be used for stealthy kill, but is not very powerful, usually 3-4 hits to down the average person.  Ammunation.

Desert Eagle:  Powerful long range handgun, can down most people except soldiers in one hit.  Ammunation.

Shotgun:  Slow pump action shotgun.  Difficult at long distances.  Ammunation, police station.

Sawn-off Shotgun:  Fast firing, fast killing shotgun.  Reloads are frequent.  Can run while shooting.  Two guns at hitman.  Great with infinite ammo.  Ammunation.

Combat Shotgun:  Automatic shotgun, though not as fast as the sawn-off.  Less reloads as well.  Ammunation.

Machine Pistol:  Fast firing but inaccurate SMG except when crouching.  Can run while shooting.  Two guns at hitman.  Ammunation.

Micro SMG:  Fast firing but inaccurate SMG except when crouching.  Can run while shooting.  Two guns at hitman.  Ammunation, top of Sweet's house.

SMG:  Fast firing and more accurate than other SMG's.  Cannot run whilst using, you may only strafe.  Ammunation.

Grenades:  Explosive device that detonates shortly after it is thrown.  Great for taking out clusters of enemies.  Ammunation.

Satchel Charges:  Explosives that detonate when the user chooses.  Many can be used at the same time, and can stick to virtually anything, even people.  Great for traps, car bombs, or just blowing up a pedestrian.  Ammunation.

AK-47:  Fast firing rifle.  Ammunation.

M4:  Excellent assault rifle that is usually the best weapon to use due to its fast rate of fire, long range, and great accuracy.  Ammunation.

Hunting Rifle:  Difficult to use gun that zooms in far, but shoots slowly and you cannot aim whilst moving.  Ammunation.

Sniper Rifle:  Great rifle with a zoom feature with a red dot for pinpoint accuracy.  Longest range of any weapon.  Ammunation.

RPG:  Shoots exploding rockets.  Found at Toreno's ranch.

Rocket Launcher:  Shoots exploding rockets that can lock onto a heat source such as a plane, helicopter, car, or boat.  Great with infinite ammo.  Found at Toreno's ranch.

Flamethrower:  Sets fire to things.  Can be used to destroy a tank.  Found at Toreno's ranch.

Minigun:  Most powerful gun.  Can destroy cars in half a second.  Found at Toreno's ranch.

Molotov Cocktails:  Thrown weapon that sets things aflame.  

Golf clubs can be found by entering a golf vehicle and exiting.
A cane is in the Vinewood sign.  
Nightsticks can be found in police stations or off of cops.
Cameras are around San Fierro, in the Johnson House, and in the San Fierro Doherty train station.
Spray paint can be found in the Johnson House.
Flowers can also be used as a weapon, check around the San Fierro highway for a little highway ramp coming from the ground.  It should be at the base.
Night vision goggles are at the top of the tower nearest the dirt path entrance to Area 69.  
Thermal goggles can be found in the control center in south Area 69.  
Parachutes can be found in - after jumping out of an aircraft such as the hydra, the super high Los Santos tower, the Big Pointy Building, and other high places ideal for jumping to your death.
